Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the DayCount app ("DayCount", "we", "us") handles your information. In short: DayCount does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Everything you create stays on your device.

Information we collect

DayCount does not collect personal information and has no user accounts, sign-in, servers, analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not see or receive any of the content you create.

Data you create

The items you add (names, dates, notes, categories, colors, chosen wallpapers, reminder settings) are stored locally on your device, including in a private app group container shared with the DayCount widget so it can display your items. This data is not uploaded to us.

Device permissions

DayCount asks for the following permissions only when you use the related feature, and only to provide that feature on your device:

• Notifications — to remind you about upcoming target dates and reminders you set. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
• Calendar (Full Access) — only if you turn on "Add to Calendar" for an item. DayCount creates, updates, and removes calendar events that mirror those items. Full Access is required so the app can update or delete the events it previously created. DayCount does not read or transmit your other calendar data.
• Photos (Add) — only when you save a shareable countdown card image to your photo library.
• Photos / Files (selection) — only when you pick a custom wallpaper image for an item. The image you choose is copied into the app's local storage and is not uploaded.

You can review or change these permissions any time in the iOS Settings app.

Calendar events

When you enable calendar sync, the events DayCount writes live in whichever calendar you choose (for example, an iCloud, Google, or Exchange calendar configured on your device). How that calendar provider handles the data is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored only on your device, you remain in control of it. You can delete individual items, use "Delete All Items" in Settings, or remove all data by deleting the app. Calendar events created by DayCount are removed when you delete the corresponding item or turn off its calendar sync.

Children's privacy

DayCount does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
